sleep wellI’ve just seen some research which has highlighted something that I’ve often suspected, and that we all unconsciously recognise, and that is that a poor nights sleep results in increased levels of stress and greater anxiety during the following day.

In addition our performance at work, or in relationships, is impaired if we do not get a good night’s sleep. All of which, of course, increases stress and anxiety too!

So a good night’s sleep is essential to reducing stress levels during the day. Of course we all can wake up because of disturbance during the night and then toss and turn because we can’t get back to sleep. Years ago I found the answer to this and now find that a little technique I learnt lets me fall back asleep quite naturally within 10 minutes of waking.

How does this work? Well one of the reasons we lie awake is because we start worrying about something. And that induces mild levels of anxiety and panic. Then, come the morning, we feel tired and stressed out, and the day hasn’t even started yet!

My little technique, which is really simple to implement, lets me think through my worries and dismiss them (or find a solution) so that I can once again enter the deep sleep that my body needs. Although this technique is simple it would take too long to explain it here but it is laid out in my book ‘The Secrets to Eliminate Stress and Anxiety’ which you’ll find on sale here…
